Electronics Engineer

Hybrid - Full Time - Entry to Mid-level (1 to 5 years)

AristonAQ Ltd is a private company founded by biomedical engineers from academia specializing in the design of medical devices for biosignals monitoring. AristonAQ aims at bringing to the electrophysiology market a range of innovative new products that help improve decision making in various health disorders. Our long experience in designing medical circuitry and devices through extensive collaboration with medics and scientists within the UK, but also worldwide, allow us to offer top notch solutions in the medical device field. 

 

The electronics engineer is responsible for designing, testing and implementing electronic printed circuit board (PCB) solutions for the development of AristonAQ instrumentation. The electronics engineer is part of the team delivering novel concepts and products in the field of electrophysiology (included but not limited to) and collaborates with a cross-functional engineering team including mechanical, design, application software and research experts. 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 


 

A day in the Life 

 

The Electronics Engineer is responsible for:

  • Analog and digital circuit design, including the use of microcontrollers, FPGAs, sensors and power management, ideally in medical devices.

  • Knowledge of circuit design processes and tools used for schematic capture, circuit simulation and PCB layout.

  • Engineering duties include component selection, analysis and specification, circuit review, layout review and general debugging. 

  • Ability to develop and carry out hands-on debug and testing of new and existing prototypes.

  • Write detailed electronic design documentation. 

  • Support electromagnetic compatibility and electromagnetic interference (EMI/EMC) compliance tests and regulatory documentation.

 

Role must haves:

 

  • Expertise with proven experience from simple to complex circuit design and multi-layer PCB design with impedance control.

  • Experience in designing with fundamental electronic elements such as transistors, op-amps, inductors etc.

  • Experience in defining electrical architectures and interfaces driven by test and simulation analysis and results.

  • Experience in various digital bus architectures and interfaces such as Inter-Integrated Circuit (I2C), USB, universal asynchronous receiver / transmitter (UART) and Serial Peripheral Interface (SPI).

  • Knowledge in power circuitry fundamentals, Low Dropout (LDOs), Direct Current to Direct Current (DC-DC) converters, power analysis.

  • Experience of designing complex FPGAs and testbenches using Verilog/VHDL

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

 

Role nice to have:

  • Familiarity with designing for medical and safety compliance

  • Experience with Altium Designer

  • Experience of embedded and scripting software (C and Python)

  • Good soldering skills (ideally 0201, QFN and similar packages)
